Teucrium canadense (American Germander)

American Germander is a rhizomatous perennial in the mint family that features spikes of lavender-pink flowers aromatic leaves. The flowers attract bees, birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, and moths. American Germander is at its best in mass plantings, moist borders, and large areas where it can serve as a fill plant or groundcover. It also makes a good cut flower.

American Germander can be an aggressive spreader in favorable conditions, so give them plenty of room or prune to contain them in smaller areas. It prefers moist or shallow, submerged soils.
